Guided tours of the Monastery: opening days from 6 July

From Tuesday, 6 July we are waiting for you at the Benedictine Monastery of San Nicolò l’Arena to guide you inside the jewel of the late Sicilian Baroque with a new timetable. Guided tours, organized by Officine Culturali, will take place:

  • Tuesday to Friday at 10:00 and 12:00 | at 16:00 and 18:00
  • Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00 (one guided tour every hour).
  • Monday we are closed

We will walk with you on a journey through time that goes from the present day to the ancient Romans, thanks to the contemporary restoration of the architect Giancarlo De Carlo. Trough luxurius gardens and mazelike corridors, we will walk across the two cloisters, the sixteenth-century basement, the eighteenth-century wing made by the architect Vaccarini with its kitchens and cellars. On the weekends and holidays the guided tours will be enriched by the visit of what were once the sumptuous apartment of the Benedictine abbot.

The info-point and the bookshop of the Benedictine Monastery will be open from Tuesday to Friday at 9:30 am and then at 3:30 pm; on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 am. To participate in the guided tours, the reservation is required by calling + 39 0957102767 or + 39 3349242464 during opening hours (also via WhatsApp) or by writing an email to info@officineculturali.net.
